AeroVironment PUMA AE II FMS Contract

$17.4 Million, Delivery to US Ally in September

AeroVironment received a $17.4 million Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract from the US government in March to deliver an unspecified number of PUMA All Environment (AE) II unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to an undisclosed US ally. Delivery is scheduled for completion by September.

The combat-proven PUMA AE delivers rapid and effective tactical intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance in a wide range of operating environments – over land and sea – providing the actionable intelligence to help customers proceed with certainty,” commented the company’s Vice President Sales and Business Development, David Sharpin. “This contract award is another indication of the unique capabilities and value international customers recognise in our small UAS solutions.”

AeroVironment’s family of small drones comprise the majority of all unmanned aircraft in the US Department of Defense inventory, and its rapidly growing international customer base numbers more than 45 allied governments.

The PUMA AE is a fully man-portable drone capable of landing in water or on land and operating in all environments. With its MANTIS i45 sensor suite, it provides operators with extended flight time and a level of imaging capability never before available in the small UAS class.
