Aero India: HAL – Innovate, Integrate and Lead

Company Has Played Leading Role in Organising Aero India

As Aero India 2019 prepares to open its gates at the Yelhanka Air Force Station near Bengaluru, 20-24 February, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) reveals the lead role it has taken in organising and supporting the show, in addition to the significant presence it will have there as it showcases its defence and aerospace prowess under the theme ‘Innovate, Integrate and Lead.’

HAL is poised to tap into the opportunity during the forthcoming Aero India and will highlight its indigenously-designed and developed fixed- and rotary-wing platforms, technologies covering power plants and latest R&D offerings. HAL is an industry leader and will continue to leave a mark as a formidable player in the domestic and global defence market,” stated HAL Chairman and Managing Director, R Madhavan.

In the flying display, HAL will be represented by the TEJAS Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), HTT-40 basic trainer, the first HAWK-I indigenously upgraded HAWK Mk 132, a civil Do-228, the RUDRA Advanced Light Helicopter, the Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH).

In the static display the company will showcase the LUH (PT-1), the LCH (TD-2), the ALH RUDRA and the ALH Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).

At the HAL pavilion proper, the main attraction will be the demonstration of tailboom and main rotor folding on the Naval Utility Helicopter (NUH) technology demonstrator. The NUH is a variant of the ALH DHRUV customised to meet naval requirements.
HAL’s Supersonic Omni Role Trainer (SPORT) simulator will be on display for the first time. The company is keen to launch further development of SPORT, with 4++ generation capabilities to bridge the gap between the advanced jet training and operational conversion training stages.

The company will illustrate each element of the air show theme with its products:

• INNOVATE – the Hindustan Turbo Fan Engine (HTFE-25) and Hindustan Turbo Shaft Engine (HTSE-1200) technology demonstrators; rotary-wing UAVs; avionics and mechanical line replaceable units; complex manufacturing capabilities;

• INTEGRATE – Do-228 aircraft; LCA TEJAS; Sukhoi Su-30MKI;

• LEAD – LCA; HTT-40; ALH RUDRA; LUH; and a cockpit wall display of the LCA Mk-1A with multi-function display.
