AERO India 2021: HAL Theme ‘Conceive – Indigenize – Collaborate’

Significant Focus on Helicopter Platforms

Promoting its wide range of expertise and know-how under the banner ‘Conceive. Indigenize. Collaborate’ at AERO India in Bangalore, 3-5 February, HAL is also supporting a unique flying display of its own fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, under the entirely appropriate title of the Aatmanirbhar Formation Flight, highlighting the Prime Minister’s vision for a self-reliant India.

The flight will include HAL platforms such as the LCA Trainer, HTT-40, IJT, ADVANCED HAWK Mk 132 and Do-228, several of which will also be used for customer demonstration flights. On its indoor booth, the major attraction is likely to be Combat Air Teaming System (CATS) simulator, which will feature a TEJAS-MAX cockpit with embedded air teaming intelligence concepts, demonstrating the fully-integrated and ‘autonomous wingman’ platforms, as well as the swarming of drones. Immersive mission visualization will be projected over a wide screen, separate from the cockpit.

Since a major theme of the show is a focus on Indian rotary-wing capabilities, HAL’s Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) will be the centrepiece of the display, with models of IMRH, ALH, LUH, LCH and the Indian helicopter manufacturing supply chain partners around it.

A number of major announcements are expected from HAL during the course of the exhibition.
