One of IAI’s Most Important Markets
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and diversified Indian company Taneja Aerospace & Aviation (TAAL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding at Aero India 2017 in Bangalore on 15 February aimed at cooperation in the development, production, marketing and sale of civil and military crashworthy aircraft seats.
IAI’s Golan Industries Division has 30 years’ experience in development of aircraft seats and TAAL, the first private sector Indian company to manufacture aircraft, will collaborate with IAI not only to develop and market the product in India, in accordance with the government’s ‘Make in India’ policy, but also will explore the possibility of acting as a subcontractor to IAI for current production lines. Joint development of new generation products is also contemplated.
“IAI is excited about this collaborative venture with TAAL,” commented Shaul Shahar, Executive VP and General Manager of IAI’s Military Aircraft Group. “We believe it will help to deepen our partnership in India, one of IAI’s most important markets.”
Salil Taneja, Chairman of TAAL, added “TAAL believes there is a growing market in India for Golan Industries’ products (which fit) extremely well with TAAL’s manufacturing capabilities, as well as with TAAL’s strategy for venturing into specialised products for the aviation industry.”
