I/ITSEC 2016: AEgis Technologies Focuses on VR

STINGER MANPADS trainer for USMC showcased

AEgis Technologies is focusing on virtual reality (VR) having different showcases demonstrating various affordable training alternatives using VR.

A STINGER MANPADS trainer for the US Marine Corps for example utilises commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) technology, Samsung’s GearVR, powered by Oculus gives much higher fidelity training for a much lower acquisition and lifecycle cost compared with actual live STINGER training.

Another VR showcase allows users to familiarise themselves with a UH-60 BLACKHAWK cockpit, using active components to provide realistic spatial orientation, combining physical components of the cockpit with automation and technical manual information.
