AAD 2018 Set to Break Its Own Record

Taking place 19-23 September 2018 with spectacular aerial & ground displays

The 10th edition of Africa Aerospace & Defence (AAD) has increasing attention from defence exhibitors and other stakeholders. The record number of confirmed exhibitors, national pavilions and major sponsors demonstrates AAD’s significance among the world’s top defence and security expositions. AAD2018 will take place 19-23 September 2018 at its traditional home, Air Force Base Waterkloof (in Tshwane) with spectacular aerial and ground displays, some of which have not been seen before on the entire African continent.

The confirmed national pavilions are Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France (new!), Germany, Italy, Lithuania Namibia, Russia, Turkey, Poland, the UK and USA – 14 pavilions to-date.

Local and foreign exhibitors booked nearly all available indoor and outdoor space; and, more than 80 per cent of hospitality chalets are reserved – all with less than five months until the opening of 2018’s edition of AAD.

A new feature on the AAD2018 programme will be seminars, covering topical subjects such as “Cyber Security” and “The Future of Drones.” Such seminars at AAD and other major international exhibitions provide a means to convey key capabilities in specific fields directly to decision-makers. This allows the defence industry to engage in a more significant way. These seminars will run over the three trade days, 19-21 September. A complete schedule will be available soon.

AAD 2018 will once again feature a dedicated drone pavilion supporting the importance of drones in both the military and commercial spheres.

An exhibitor briefing will happen in July and registration for trade visitors only will open on 15 May 2018. Trade invitations are limited to professional and business people who are primarily engaged in legitimate areas of the defence-industrial complex, (i.e. government officials, defence materiel and equipment procurement officers, defence manufacturers, military end-users and defence / national security research entities). This strictly precludes people under the age of 18 years. The trade invitation is valid only for the Official trade days.

Any potential exhibitors are advised them to access the “E-zone” on the AAD website, here, where bookings made. Applications are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. Visit the Official AAD 2018 website for more information or contact them here and here.
