A New CEO for Atech

Rodrigo Persico de Oliveira Takes the Reins

Atech, the ‘systems house’ member of the Embraer Group, has a new CEO.

Rodrigo Persico de Oliveira, previously VP of Business Intelligence at Embraer Defense & Security, replaces Edson Carlos Mallaco as President and CEO of Atech on 1 March. “I express my gratitude to Edson Mallaco, who has served as President and CEO of Atech since 2015 and made a vast contribution to the Embraer Group over the past 39 years,” stated Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security.

Persico’s promotion comes as part of the Group’s restructuring of its Defense & Security business. “I am sure Rodrigo has the necessary skills to lead Atech, continuing the company’s growth in a sustainable way and with a willingness to meet current and future demands of the armed forces and the business market,” Bosco added.

Emphasising the synergy between customers, employees, partners, and suppliers, Edson Mallaco reflected on his time with Atech. “It was a great privilege to lead Atech during these eight years and count on professionals as unique as ours. Today, Atech is a reference company in the national and international markets, and its contribution is crucial for the country’s technological autonomy, which makes us proud. We operate throughout the cycle of innovative technologies in strategic projects for the armed and security forces. Our knowledge and willingness to innovate reach society and contribute to citizens’ daily lives […] I wish Rodrigo much success in this new challenge, and I am sure Atech will be under competent and prosperous leadership, with a focus on expanding the company’s business, aiming to meet the demands of our customers.”

In his 23-year career at Embraer, Persico has filled multiple engineering roles at home and abroad, then took on the role of VP of Business Intelligence in March 2020. A mechanical engineer, he graduated from the Federal University of Santa Catarina-UFSC and has two MBAs: International Executive from FIA-USP and a Specialisation Course in Administration from FGV. “I am confident that I will carry out growth management with support from the team and leaders, preserving the legacy built so far and leading towards expansion paths, sustainably and robustly, with a total focus on customer needs,” he stated.
