Axon Vision will deliver an advanced upgrade kit for Remote-Controlled Weapon Stations that includes the “AI Core” computing unit and the EdgeRCWS software
Axon Vision announced on September 9 it has secured a significant $2 million (USD) order from a local Israeli defense customer, with the potential for substantial follow-on orders.
Under the order, Axon Vision will deliver an advanced upgrade kit for Remote-Controlled Weapon Stations (RCWS) that includes the “AI Core” computing unit and the EdgeRCWS software – an AI-powered solution for smart and automated operation of RCWS. The kit transforms conventional and even outdated weapon stations into fully intelligent systems that automatically detect and respond to a wide range of aerial and ground threats in real time. By analyzing the live video feed with advanced AI, the system enables effective interception of hostile drones as well as enemy combatants attempting to approach undetected.
EdgeRCWS dramatically extends detection and engagement ranges, shortens the sensor-to-shooter loop, enables Smart Fire Sequences and counters aerial threats (Counter-UAS) – giving forces battlefield superiority and a decisive response to evolving threats. Thanks to its simple operation, operators with only basic training can utilize the system to its full potential. With compatibility across a wide range of major combat platforms, the system is expected to pave the way for substantial follow-on orders. Moreover, growing worldwide demand for such solutions creates strong opportunities with international customers.
This order follows the company’s recent announcements of strategic deals in Asia and Europe, underscoring the growing demand for Axon Vision’s innovative AI solutions.
BG. (Res.) Roy Riftin,CEO of Axon Vision, said: “Our EdgeRCWS system embodies our vision of transforming the battlefield through groundbreaking AI-based products and demonstrates the operational advantage our solutions provide to combat forces in addressing emerging threats. We are proud of the trust placed in us by Israeli defense customers and view it as an important milestone in expanding our activities in Israel and abroad.”
