Nedinsco launches NedEye

NedEye. (Nedinsco)

A fully European gimbal for tactical ISR drones

Nedinsco announced on September 8 the launch of NedEye, a new-generation gimbal system engineered specifically for tactical ISR drones in the NATO domain. Combining exceptional optical performance with a lightweight, rugged construction, NedEye addresses the growing demand for reliable, European-made and advanced airborne observation systems.

Designed for both fixed-wing and rotary drones in the medium-weight class (2–150kg), NedEye delivers unmatched zoom capability, outstanding image stabilisation and full day-and-night operational readiness. It is purpose-built for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, border security and target identification, all while maintaining integration flexibility and operational agility.

Key capabilities
Made in Europe. Developed, manufactured and assembled entirely within Europe, ensuring supply chain security, strategic autonomy and compliance with NATO/EU standards.

Advanced optical and digital zoom. Three daylight cameras provide full-range, high-resolution imaging at extended distances, with seamless transitions between optical and digital magnification.

Exceptional image stabilisation. Pan-tilt mechanical stabilisation, reinforced by advanced software algorithms, delivers steady, precise visuals in all conditions.

Lightweight construction. Significantly extends drone flight time and enables integration on smaller platforms without sacrificing performance.

Night vision and AI integration. Enables 24/7 operational capability with automated detection, recognition and tracking functions to enhance decision-making.

Open software architecture. Secure, adaptable integration for OEMs and system integrators, with full protection against unauthorised access.

Strategic relevance
The introduction of NedEye comes at a time when airborne ISR capabilities are increasingly critical in both defence and security contexts. With armed forces shifting towards autonomous and unmanned platforms, reducing personnel exposure while increasing situational awareness has become a strategic imperative. NedEye is engineered to support this transition, delivering high-end optical performance without compromising endurance, weight or interoperability.

By maintaining complete design and production control within Europe, Nedinsco ensures uninterrupted operational readiness and independence from non-European component suppliers. This approach guarantees compliance with stringent NATO and EU defence requirements and mitigates geopolitical supply chain risks.

Built on proven expertise
NedEye is the result of close collaboration with drone manufacturers, system integrators and operational end users, combined with Nedinsco’s century-long experience in military-grade optical systems. This collaborative approach ensures that the product meets real-world operational needs while enabling continuous innovation through rapid feedback and incremental development cycles.

Availability
NedEye is now available for demonstrations and integration discussions. Defence and security organisations interested in evaluating the system under operational conditions are invited to contact Nedinsco directly.
