SEK1.8 billion order under new 10-year agreement as Sweden bolsters ammunition supply

Nammo has secured a major new order from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for small-caliber ammunition, valued at 1.8 billion SEK. This order is part of a recently signed 10-year framework agreement between Nammo and FMV, and represents the largest contract for small-caliber ammunition awarded to Nammo by Sweden.

Deliveries under the agreement will take place between 2026 and 2028.

The long-term agreement provides Nammo with more predictability for its future investments and will strengthen Sweden’s security of supply. Deliveries on the contract will constitute a substantial part of the activity at Nammo’s factory in Karlsborg ahead.

In a comment, Nammo`s Executive Vice President for Small and Medium Caliber Ammunition business unit, Reijo Bragberg said: “This is a significant order and a key agreement that ensures greater predictability for Nammo and, even more importantly, security of supply for Sweden.”

The agreement is an important step to secure deliveries of ammunition at a time when global capacity is scarce. The significance of the agreement was further underlined by Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson´s visit to the factory in Karlsborg, where he stated that the defense industry plays an important part in defending the democracy.
