Modification to 2021 Contract Increases Potential Value
Saab Inc has had its Force-on-Force Training Systems – Next contract with the US Marine Corps modified.
Additional options are included under the new version of the deal, originally signed in June 2021, increasing the potential total value to $248million. The modification includes an order worth $122million, of which $54million was booked in 2021.
The FoFTS-N contract will see Saab providing a deployable live training system to the USMC, including equipment to be installed on vehicles and individual weapon systems, alongside logistics, maintenance and support during exercises. FoFTS-N includes MCTIS – Marine Corps Training Instrumentation Systems – equipment, sufficient to equip up to 10 battalion training sets, along with support operations at various USMC training sites.
“The deployable and expeditionary MCTIS capability is an advanced training solution that will ensure Marines train and learn in the most realistic environment,” said Erik Smith, President and CEO of Saab Inc. “The system will enhance Marines’ performance and survivability on the battlefield by developing and reinforcing proper tactics, techniques, and procedures.”
