Related to 2019 Contract for Eight Helicopters and a Simulator
Indonesian state-owned aircraft manufacturer PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) announced on 21 January that it has held a ground-breaking ceremony to mark the beginning of work on a new flight simulator facility for future H225M helicopter pilots at the Indonesian Air Force’s (TNI-AU’s) Atang Sendjaja Air Base, south of Jakarta.
The company provided no further details, but the facility is related to a contract announced by PTDI in January 2019 for eight additional Airbus Helicopters H225M medium-lift helicopters, as well as one H225M level D full flight simulator.
Under the deal, believed to the worth $330 million, PTDI will outfit and customise the new helicopters before delivery to the TNI-AU, which already operates at least three of six H225Ms ordered by the service in 2012.
