Agreements Extends Through 2028 with Maximum Value €822 Million
The US Navy has selected Navantia to maintain and repair ARLEIGH BURKE-class destroyers and other vessels stationed at Rota (Cádiz), the company announced on 23 January.
The ceiling value of the agreement, which will run until January 2028, amounts to €822.4 million and is expected to create more than 1,000 direct jobs per year.
Navantia has thus strengthened its position as the USN’s main maintainenance partner in Rota, a role it has been fulfilling since 2013. The contract is extensive in terms of manpower, with a high level of technical requirement and strict deadlines. The contract is an important source of revenues and training, both for Navantia and for partner companies in the Bay of Cádiz area, and will also lead to improvements in internal processes, which will subsequently help improve company capabilities in the context of the global defence market.
