MONCh Gear Box Product Review
Most shoes tend to be exclusively made for running/hiking or marching/the range but there isn’t really a good shoe that gives you the best of all worlds…until now. The 5.11 RANGER shoes do not only look good, it can be used for almost anything: from running, jumping, climbing, marching or a day at the range. Like most tactical footwear, they do not have a that military look so they can simultaneously be paired with casual pants.
The company describes it as a high-performance training shoe with a breathable nylon ripstop, nubuck and polymer mesh upper and a tough rubber outsole for all-terrain training. The cushioned polyurethane midsole provides arch support and heel stability, while the removable OrthoLite insole adds extra cushioning and comfort. There is an 8mm heel-to-toe drop designed specifically to increase acceleration and shoe responsiveness when running. Hidden toe reinforcements along the front of the shoe ensure a secure fit and the widened forefoot promotes toe splaying for added balance.
5.11 applies the durable, rugged construction of their tactical boots to this athletic shoe with optimal shock absorption and lightweight comfort.
The logo is the only indicator of what you’re wearing, as it os displayed largely on the side, almost screaming at you.
Other than that, a robust, very flexible shoe that looks cool and gives you the ability to wear for training, at the gun range or walking around town in casual clothing.
